My firewall is setup to allow correct port but the part in the windows help file says to go to control panel, system, remote settings and:
';Under Remote Desktop, click either Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop or Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication.';
So I go to system, click Remote Settings and instead of a box like the one shown here:

I'm getting this one:

What's going on, the help files say that these instructions apply to every version of vista so it should surely work, has Service Pack 1 moved/removed it like it did the search button in the start menu?How do I set up remote desktop on Vista Home Premium x64 SP1?
This is an odd one. On my desktop running Vista Home Premium I have a dialog box the same as the one shown in your first image; however, on a laptop running Vista Business, there is a different dialog box again:

Neither machine has been updated to SP1 so I can't corroborate your suspicion that SP1 has somehow altered these dialog boxes. But it is likely that different flavours of Vista have different options enabled by default, as was the case with Windows XP Home and Pro.
