How to create Peer to Peer Network on Windows Vista Laptops?

Hi all and thanks for the help in advance. Okay I bought two computers for work that will be standalone Laptops that won't connect to the Internet, just to each other. Right now I have a Crossover Cable connecting them. I can see each computer in the Network Setting Folder, but when I try to access the other one it tells me it tried pinging the other computer with no response. They are both Toshiba Laptops running Windows Vista Home. Can somebody please step me through how I can set these up to share files between them. I was on the phone with Microsoft and Toshiba for 8 Hours today and they wouldn't help me because that is not part of my warranty. Please help. I don't know very much about Vista should have stayed with XP. Oh well. Thanks. How to create Peer to Peer Network on Windows Vista Laptops?
Hey, this worked for me a while back.

Its the same under Vista (at leat the principles). Eventhough VIsta supports IPv6 by default don't use it unless you are familiar with hex. Network connections are somwhere in the control panel.

It also worked under BSD with multiple NICs. If they have bluetooth and are within range use the bluetooth OBEX exchange. Its slower but easy are realiable.
