How to set up home network with windows vista home premium?

I got an old pc installed with windows xp home edition, an old laptop installed with windows xp professional, and a new laptop installed with windows vista home premium edition. I have a router which was used to set up the home networking. It no longer works with the new laptop with windows vista. Any help is appreciated. How to set up home network with windows vista home premium?
Sorry to tell you but you screwed up, to start off the Vista is horrible. Second, the vista will not be internet ready by late September then you will receive an update thought the internet. Until then, connect the Vista throughtan Ethernet cord. How to set up home network with windows vista home premium?
It should work... i mean if you connect all them to the router it should work... unless the vista pc is not set up for networking or the drivers are not installed correctly.
If the router works with the existing XP home or pro, it should work also with the new windows vista. Mine connects between XP Pro and vista on laptop/desktop combinations. How is the old laptop connected to the router, is it by cat5 or wireless? Try to configure the router through the wireless tab and check your connections properly. I think the Vista on the new laptop has to be refreshed. Try to connect it with cat5 cable and see if it can connect to the net. If it works, disconnect the ethernet cable, then try to browse for networks. Have you changed your SSID on your router? This is one way to see if it picks up your SSID with your vista laptop scanning for any wireless signals. If your older laptop can connect wireless, then we can figure the router's wireless is working, but if it doesn't and this new laptop doesn't as well, then the problem is the router. Sorry, but networking trouble shooting is going by deductions and excluding known factors. Can you ensure that you don't have fixed IP address on each computer/laptop, get the adapters 'enabled' to obtain address automatically through TCP/IP properties. And enable DHCP on the router.
Use the vista network setup wizard to configure the setup, tell it to connect via residential gateway to the internet. Change it to the same workgroup name as the other machines. Offer any folders you wish to be shared. Set the exception for file and printer sharing in the firewall. Go to tcp/ip properties for your connection and advanced. In the wins tab set always use netbios over tcp/ip and turn off use lmhosts. When the machine argues about an empty wins address override this. It may take 20 minutes but the shared machines should show in Network.
