I have Linksys to set up my home network and wifi, I lost CD software, how can I secured network?

My home now has Wifi and I can access internet wirelessly and everything. The wifi is secured but it is with a default code that is very long and it would be easier to make a personal password instead of a long one that I can't remember. I lost CD software, are there any other options? I run both a Mac Leopard OS and a Microsoft Windows Vista OS. What's the model number of your router?

try visiting the following urls in your browser, one should trigger a router login page:

http://192.168.0.1

http://192.168.1.1

http://192.168.2.1

(Please note that these IP addresses are internal network addresses- they cannot connect to any website on the internet and are safe to visit- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_net鈥?/a> )

Usually linksys routers use the following username/password combos:

(blank)/admin

admin/admin

admin/password

(Note: this is different than the password you'd use to connect wirelessly to your router)

If those fail search for ';(model name) default password';.

Once you're in, go to the security or wireless tab (It will vary by router) and you should be able to change the wireless password.

Hope this helps!I have Linksys to set up my home network and wifi, I lost CD software, how can I secured network?
connect one of the computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable. on that computer open up a web browser. in the url bar enter 192.168.1.1

enter the admin password (the password is admin unless you've changed it, username blank).

once you enter the router's admin interface click the wireless tab and change the encryption password to something you can remember. save the changes when finished.

if you have saved the encryption password on your wireless devices you will have to change them to reflect the new password before you can connect to your network.
Log into the router through your browser, should be 192.168.1.1. If you didn't set the user name and password, the default is admin. Then you set away, here is the step by step, as I'm sure pictures make it easier.
