I was curious if anyone could provide me with some assistance pertaining to setting up a home network. I currently have a wireless connection in my house. I have one workstation connected to the wireless access router with Cat5. I have two laptops that connect through the wireless access point. I have WEP enabled as well. I want all three computers to see each other for file sharing and etc. I am confused on how to go about doing so since the workstation wired into the router is XP, one of the laptops is XP and another is Vista. I tried to make them part of the same workgroup (they couldn't see each other), but I didn't set up any IP numbers or anything as I wasn't sure if I would need to or not. Any advice would be very helpful, thank you.Assistance needed with home wireless network!?
In vista, you have to set the network type to public, and turn on file sharing, this can be done from the network and sharing center. In XP you have to make sure that file sharing is turned on, to do this, right click the folder to share and select the sharing tab (I believe, i havent used XP in a while)Assistance needed with home wireless network!?
Read this article, it will get you up to speed:

Getting 2 XP computers to see each other is merely a matter of sharing folders on each one.
Getting Vista working with them is more difficult - I haven't gotten all the quirks out myself yet.
