How do I set up a simple home network using my linksys router?

I need some way to connect, 1 laptop with xp, and one desktop and laptop with vista wirelessly so I can be on one side of my house and be able to get a file from the desktop on the other side without sending it through email or something like that. I have a linksys wireless g router in my house and I want to know how to set up some sort of wireless network for free. I'm using the free trial of cisco's network magic pro, and its doing what i want it to do but I cant spend the money on the full version. I can get into the basic setup for the router, and the model number is WRT54G2.How do I set up a simple home network using my linksys router?
Just share a folder on one PC and access it from the other...

Use a PCI or USB wireless adapter on each computer. Connect them all to your wireless Router.
