Setting up a Home Office with Windows Vista and Media Center 2002?

How would I network a wireless Laptop with Windows Vista to a hardwired Desktop with Media Center 2002 if I have a Netgear wireless router?

My goal is to let my laptop view/add/edit the files and folders on my desktop.Setting up a Home Office with Windows Vista and Media Center 2002?

once both pc's are connected you must create a workgroup

both PC's must be entered into the same workgroup .

once this is done simply share the folder and you will be able to see the folder in the workgroupSetting up a Home Office with Windows Vista and Media Center 2002?
That's easy. Just connect your desktop computer directly to one of the ports in the back of the router (using the Ethernet cable that it comes with) and also hook up the modem to the Internet port on the back of the router.

Immediately, the router will start broadcasting a wireless signal that your laptop will automatically detect. Just choose to manually establish a connection and make it your preferred network.

The router will let you share files/folders between the two computers. In fact, you can use one hard drive to backup all your music, videos, and documents on the other computer in case of a hard drive failure. That's a nifty feature that I always use.

Just remember to enable folder sharing on each computer.
